Four College of Education and Human Development faculty were appointed or promoted into new leadership positions within the college.
Mary Alfred will serve as associate dean for faculty affairs while continuing her current role as associate professor of adult education in the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development. She will oversee faculty promotions and tenure, faculty searches, faculty evaluations and retention concerns, and faculty awards.
Linda Castillo, associate professor of counseling psychology in the Department of Educational Psychology, will serve as associate dean for research. Her responsibilities include managing the college’s research office and promoting and enhancing extramural funding initiatives across the college.
Ping Xiang will provide advocacy and coordination of international initiatives as director of international initiatives. She is an associate professor of health and kinesiology pedagogy in the Department of Health and Kinesiology.
Fredrick Muyia Nafukho assumed his new leadership role as head of the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development effective July 1. He will continue as professor of human resource development in addition to his administrative duties.
