A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, classified as a college junior or senior, committed to being a teacher. Mary Barnhill Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking teacher certification. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: Top 10% of their High School class and maintain minimum 3.0 GPR, graduate from one of the following High Schools: McGregor, Midway, Palacios, Robert Lee, Ballinger or Gatesville; Freshman, committed to being a teacher. Jennifer Cammack Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking teacher certification. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, classified as a college junior or senior, committed to being a teacher, and participate in at least one extra-curricular activity at Texas A&M University. The Todd Christopher Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking teacher certification. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, classified as a college junior or senior, and committed to being a teacher. Dow Aggie Endowed Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking certification as a secondary-math or physical science teacher or majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with a math or science emphasis. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, U.S. Citizen, classified as a college sophomore or junior. Educators Shape the Future Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded to students seeking secondary or elementary certification. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, classified as a college junior or senior, and committed to becoming a teacher in the San Antonio area. Janie House Flack and Gordon R. Flack/Capital City A&M Club: A recipient must be seeking teacher certification. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, classified as a college junior or senior, committed to being a teacher. Preference: Student from Travis County, interested in teaching in a Title-I school and elementary certification major. Friends of Texas A&M University Endowed Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking secondary certification or majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, committed to becoming a teacher, classified as a college junior or senior. W.L. Gerner Scholarship: A renewable, annual scholarship for undergraduate students. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: Committed to teaching, financial need and is classified as a junior or senior. The recipient must earn and maintain a 2.5 GPR while receiving the scholarship. Glenn G. & Sharon L. Gibson Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking a degree in special education. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 3.0 GPR, classified as a sophomore, junior or senior, must be a U.S. and Texas resident, demonstrated leadership skills, and participated in recognized university organizations. Houston Endowment Scholarship: The scholarship is offered for individuals committed to teaching in Harris County or a surrounding county of Harris after graduation. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, classified as a college junior or senior, and committed to being a teacher. Billy G. and Mary Lay Endowed Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking teacher certification. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 3.00 GPR, financial need, classified as a junior or senior and Corps member of the band. Mary and Billy Lay Endowed Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking teacher certification. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 3.00 GPR, financial need, classified as a junior or senior and Corps member of the band. Jack Longbotham Endowed Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking teacher certification. The scholarship is awarded for one year. Eligibility Requirements: Senior Education major with a cumulative GPR of 3.5 or higher. Recipient must be from one of the following counties: Brazos, Brewster, Callahan, Ector, El Paso, Fisher, Howard, Jeff Davis, Martin, Midland, Mitchell, Nolan, Presidio, Scurry, Taylor or Williamson. Edna Earle and Joe B. Mattei '53 Education Endowed Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking secondary certification or majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, committed to becoming a teacher, classified as a junior, senior, or graduate student. Edna Earle and Joe B. Mattei '53 Math/Science Endowed Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking certification as secondary math or physical science teacher or majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with math or science emphasis. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, committed to becoming a teacher, classified as a junior, senior, or graduate student. Andrea E. McKenna '08 Memorial Scholarship: The recipient must be junior/senior classification and admitted to the special education program. Among equally deserving students, preference should be given first to members of the Catholic Students Association, provided the CSA remains a recognized student organization at Texas A&M University, and second to students from Galveston County. Eligibility Requirements: must show examples of extracurricular activities, leadership positions, and provide a biography of Andi McKenna's life and aspirations. Nancy Anne Powell Memorial '83 Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking teacher certification in Early Childhood. Eligibility Requirements: Pursuing certification in Early Childhood, graduate from Texas public high school, maintain GPR of 2.75. Tom and Joan Read Academic Endowment Scholarships: A recipient must major in health or kinesiology. Competitive Entry & Retention Requirements: Competitive basis with regard to academic achievement, professional involvement, and financial need. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Applications are due by April 1st of each year. Francis R. "Dick" Scobee Memorial Scholarship: The scholarship is named for the late space-shuttle commander who had a deep interest in education and Texas A&M. A recipient must be a student seeking certification as a secondary math or physical science teacher or majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with math or science as an area of specialization. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Competitive Entry & Retention Requirements: 1000 SAT, "B" average in high school, maintain 3.0 GPR at A&M. Wilda Smith Scott Endowed Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking certification as a secondary teacher or majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, classified as a college junior or senior, and committed to becoming a teacher. Shaping the Future Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded to students seeking secondary or elementary certification. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, classified as a college junior or senior, and committed to becoming a teacher. Shaping the Future Scholarship Brick Program: A recipient must be seeking a degree in the College of Education and Human Development. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 3.0 GPR, classified as a college junior or senior, involved in extracurricular activities, and demonstrated leadership skills. Shaping the Future Scholarship - Special Ed / Dr. Linda Parrish: A recipient must be seeking teacher certification as a Special Education teacher. Eligibility Requirements: Special Education major. Spencer Patton Squire Memorial Scholarship: This one-year award is given to an incoming freshman who is seeking a degree in the College of Education and Human Development. Eligibility Requirements: demonstrated financial need and a well-rounded student. Langston Terry-Ammon Underwood Scholarship: A recipient must be an incoming freshman who is a U.S. citizen and a Texas resident majoring in any undergraduate program, including non-teaching certification programs of the CEHD. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Competitive Entry & Retention Requirements: 1100 SAT, top 25% of high school class, and "B" average in high school, maintain 3.0 GPR at A&M. Texas A&M Class of 1966 Scholarship: A recipient must be seeking certification as a secondary teacher or majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPR, financial need, classified as a college junior or senior, and committed to being a teacher. THA Foundation Scholarship: THA provides a renewable, annual scholarship for non-traditional undergraduate students pursuing teaching as a career. A scholarship is awarded for one year, but a recipient may compete for renewal each year. Eligibility Requirements: Committed to teaching elementary or middle school and considered a non-traditional student based on THA Foundation guidelines. Must be enrolled full-time and have and maintain a 2.5 GPR while on the scholarship. |
