By becoming a partner with the College of Education and Human Development, you will be making an investment in the future of education across Texas and the nation. You will help ensure that the college continues to recruit and prepare the best and brightest students so they can become future educators and leaders in their field. Your investment can take many forms, from scholarships and fellowships for students, to support for our faculty or perhaps funding for a specific program.
Scholarships provide much-needed funds to deserving undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers in health or education. Awards may be designated for specific fields of interest and can be endowed for a minimum of $25,000. Funds from several donors may be pooled to create a lasting tribute to a relative or friend.
Endowed fellowships allow the college to attract promising graduate students who will support our faculty and guide our undergraduates. Recruiting more outstanding graduate students is an integral part of the college's strategic plan to continue developing leaders in professional fields.
Endowed Chairs recognize distinguished faculty meeting high standards in a field of study. Attracting top scholars is vital to improving the overall quality of programs offered in the College of Education and Human Development. Each $1 million endowment will enable the college to recruit and retain prominent faculty to share their knowledge with students at Texas A&M. Endowments are named for the donor or his/her designee and provide an assured source of funding to the recipient. Faculty Fellows recognize outstanding faculty for their contributions in the scholarships of discovery, teaching, and service. Awards are competitive and granted annually based on the merits of nominees. Each $100,000 endowment will fund a Faculty Fellow award in perpetuity. A $25,000 gift will fund an award for five years. Recipients of Faculty Fellow awards receive a $5,000 stipend to be used toward their field of study.
The College of Education and Human Development has many programs that provide needed services to citizens of Texas. From programs that prepare special educators, to the Principals' Center that supports our educational leaders, to the Institute for Sport Medicine and Human Performance, the college provides leadership in developing new knowledge across a wide array of fields. Many college programs focus on improving the well-being of children, youth and families across the state through innovative health and educational initiatives. Gifts of $25,000 to over $1 million will enable the college to purchase equipment, conduct workshops, support research and teach students.
