The Instructional Technology Group(ITG) is responsible for technology resources that are used in classroom instruction and for technology resources that are used to facilitate distance learning. The Instructional Technology Group provides the following services: |

Ben Smith (right in picture) is the primary training and support contact for the use of technology resources that are present in the classrooms in the College of Education and Human Development. Ben's other responsibilities include assisting with the development and delivery of web-based instruction, providing training and support for web conferencing, and providing administrative support for Qualtrics, an online data collection application. Ben is also very interested in instructional and administrative uses of mobile technology. Yolanda Debose Columbus (in center on right in picture) primary responsiblities include instructional design and managing the College's Moodle initiative. Moodle is a course management system. Yolanda's other responsibilities include faculty and staff technology development. Yolanda's current interest include collaboration in higher education and teaching and training using games. Fran Hunter (in center on left in picture) is the primary support contact for Blackboard Vista in the College of Education and Human Development. Fran's other responsibilities include scheduling and facilitating video conferences, providing administrative support for web conferenicng, and providing support for streaming video and podcasts. One of Fran's current interest is the use of Second Life as an instructional tool. Cruz Quiroz main job duties include helping drive communication, cross-group collaboration and serve as a technical resource to technical teams and customers to help with their content management issues. He is managing internal and external projects in the areas of systems portals administration, applications development, distance communication, marketing and also provides technical support for the Moodle course management system that the College of Education and Human Development is currently using. Cruz interest is to help students to learn how to use the large variety of online learning tools that will help them develop their skill for online collaboration to enrich their learning experience to work collaboratively. |
