Timeline and Process

Oct. 1, 2007 - Feb. 28, 2008: Online application available

March 2008: Scholarship applications reviewed

April: Award notification letters are mailed to the address listed on the application. Students who change their address after completing the application should notify the Scholarship Office to ensure delivery of the award letter.

May - June: Students sign a scholarship agreement and send a thank you letter to the scholarship donor.

Mid-October: Students are recognized at the Annual Donor Appreciation Luncheon.

Students are encouraged to complete their application early in the process. Selections are made by the Scholarship Committee and follow criteria established by the scholarship donors and the College of Education and Human Development faculty and staff.

General criteria considered by the Scholarship Committee include:

Academic achievement
Leadership
Extracurricular involvement
Service
Choice of teaching field
Special circumstances
Essay
Financial need (only in some cases)
